This time of year, its hard to not find a beautiful place to shoot a senior portrait session. We used the beautiful Downtown Baraboo as the start point, and ended at Devils Lake State Park for some really beautiful, artistic shots of Julia.
Julia is a senior at the Baraboo Highschool. Because this was more or less a last minute shoot, I hadn't had time to meet her until the day of. She has a quiet smile, big blue eyes, and beautiful curly red hair! When I saw her, I was immediately excited to start shooting!
Like I mentioned earlier, we started in the wonderful Downtown Baraboo area. I like to take to the alley's for senior sessions, there is generally a lot of fun things to use as backdrops, and you never know what you are going to get. It's an urban adventure!
Our adventure continued as we went to Devils Lake State Park. Everyone always wants to shoot at Devils Lake, but I find it somewhat difficult. Some days it is just too crowded to get a good shot without having to photoshop random people. Some times the sun can be too bright and make the lake look like a gigantic light. (Unflattering, trust me.)

This night was different though. Not too many people. Not to windy.. Not too much sun reflecting off the surface of the water. It was an early evening great for taking pictures!
Conclusion is that this senior portrait session was a success. Julia was a bit shy to begin with, but I think that is what made this photo shoot really amazing. The weather, great backdrops and a good photographer didn't hurt either :)
