The Elroy Sparta bike trail made this engagement session an artful, soulful evening! Renee and Matt live in Wilton, very near the bike trail. We hiked back a ways onto the trail, right at the entrance of this old railroad tunnel.

Matt and Renee met in July 2011, so this engagement is a long time coming! He is the quiet one and she is the outgoing one. They met online and she was attracted to his mysterious, dark photographs of him playing the guitar.
From a photographers perspective, this couple is the complete package! They have crazy chemistry that was easy to pick up on and capture. They both have a darker, edgier side to them, so I tried to play with that during our shoot. To see their pictures, go here: http://stephshanks.pixieset.com/reneeandmatt/
The Elroy Sparta Trail is 32 miles of abandon railway throughout the heart of Wisconsin. Driving to the town of Wilton from my home in Baraboo was really quite beautiful. Very much full of rolling hills, farms, small towns. Picturesque small town USA. The Elroy Sparta Trail is one of the first rails to trails projects and one of the most popular in the country. Driving to Wilton, I can see why!

This picture was taken right in front of the tunnel, behind me were a few bikers watching us take photographs :)
Matt and Renee decided to get married in my great town of Baraboo, Wisconsin. They choose Baraboo because they love the Baraboo Art Building and its rugged, open feel. Currently, I am looking for places around town to photograph their wedding day. Renee and Matt love the industrial look, they love old buildings and nature. I have a few ideas in mind for them on their big day! Can't wait!
Here are a couple of images from the property they own. It was late, but we still got a few shots in :)
