I've been shooting weddings for 7 years now, and I've had a couple of great places that I have been lucky enough to shoot at, I thought I would share them with you now!
February is a great month to reflect, regroup and get excited about the spring time weather coming our way. I thought adding some pictures of sunshine and happiness might inspire you!
#1 Hopetown, Bahamas
This was not your typical go get married in the Bahamas shoot. This was a plane ride to Miami, followed by a plane ride to the main Bahama island, followed by a ferry ride to an amazing tiny island called hopetown. If you are ever able to visit there, you will be as smitten with it as I was. If you can get married there, please take me with you! A small town with a big beach is all you need for a romantic, destination wedding.
#2 Mirror Lake
When I look at back at these pictures, I am transported to this place instantly! The weather was warm, the sun was shining through the trees, and the leaves were falling slowly from the sky. It was like we were in a magical space. Definetly not what you think of when you think "Wisconsin Dells Wedding." I was so highly impressed with this couple and their ability to make such an artsy, couture wedding out of everything local. I can't wait to shoot here again!
#3. Oschner's Park, Baraboo WI
Here is why Oschner's Park is so wonderful for a wedding. It's beautiful, it has shelter, it has plenty of things for children to do, and its easily accessible. I don't think I have every photographed a more well planned out , kid friendly wedding in my life! Not only did the children have a huge playground and a zoo to keep them occupied, the couple bought pizzas for them as well! They wanted everyone to have a good time, and sometimes that means catering to the kids! The bridge and walking trail at lower Oscher's Park really made a perfect backdrop for photos as well.
#4.
This place is as about as cute as you can get! A BnB was the perfect place to get married. The owner/host was so sweet and accommodating. The bride was able to get ready in a very nice room (see previous blog about how not to get ready in a basement of a church) while the groom as his friends made any last minute accommodations for the guests. I loved the small pond too, it was a really beautiful space for a wedding!
After writing this post is very apparent that I love outdoor weddings with venues that include water. There is something very romantic about an outdoor wedding. All the glitz and glam that goes into indoor weddings is quite beautiful, but the simplicity of an outdoor wedding takes the cake for me.
And I was serious, if you ever need a photographer in the Bahamas, I'm your girl :0
